Michigan Football Team Wolverines Lose Reserve Quarterback Tate Forcier for Academic Ineligibility

The big Gator Bowl is tomorrow and fans are looking forward to Mississippi State versus Michigan. But this Michigan football team will play without their reserve quarterback as Tate Forcier’s academic grades were too low making him ineligible..
Michigan Football fans may be looking forward to the Gator Bowl tomorrow at 1:30 p.m., but the Wolverines are down a key player: reserve quarterback Tate Forcier. It was announced that Forcier could not play because the sophomore had not met University standards.
Tate Forcier enjoyed playing starting quarterback during every game for his first year as a Wolverine. However, this season his position was changed to reserve quarterback, second in line, to sophomore Denard Robinson this season. When asked about his spot being given to another player Forcier told The Detroit Press, “Anytime somebody says something to me about leaving, I say, 'I'm still here aren't I?' You still see me with all this Michigan stuff on me. This is me.”
The Wolverines are in a tight position now as the next player in line to cover for Forcier is Devin Gardner, who unfortunately has been plagued with a lower back injury all season. Coach Rich Rodriguez told The Detroit Press that he will more than likely be petitioning for a medical redshirt. This means another player from another position will take over Forcier’s reserve spot. In this case, the redshirt is freshman Jeremy Gallon who is a slot receiver on the team. Gallon has played scout-team quarterback during the bowl practices and also played quarterback in high school.
Since the Wolverines loss against their rivals, Michigan State University Spartans, the Wolverines have won two games out of six. Overall the Wolverines are 7-5 and 3-5 against Big Ten teams.

The Wolverines will continue practice as they prepare to face No. 21 Mississippi State. No doubt the team hopes their starter Robinson doesn’t get injured during practice or play tomorrow.
