Buick LaCrosse MI Vehicles Receive General Motors Hybrid Technology Boost

Demand is increasing for greener vehicles so automakers like GM are pushing the boundaries of technology to ensure they offer the best fuel economy possible. GM’s new 2012 Buick LaCrosse MI sedan is the next step in GM’s line of luxury sport sedans.
Buick LaCrosse MI automaker General Motors has been doing all that it can to create a greener environment. From helping with the BP oil spill by recycling plastic booms to adjusting 52 percent of its worldwide facilities to be landfill-free, General Motors is working hard to reduce its waste and make a smaller footprint on the environment.
The all-new 2012 Buick LaCrosse is another way that GM is giving back to the environment with its customers in mind as the fuel economy has increased with this new sedan.
The new Buick LaCrosse MI sedan is equipped with a four-cylinder engine and will come standard with eAssist. General Motor’s eAssist system offers three times greater power to the vehicles that will use the newest version. This system combined with other upgraded features give the Buick LaCrosse a 25 percent increase in fuel economy with the same 2.4 liter engine as the 2011 LaCrosse. The full-sized Buick LaCrosse can get up to 25 mpg city and 37 mpg highway.
Buick LaCrosse MI shoppers and other potential owners will enjoy the new motor assist and battery charging that occurs with a new belt-drive system. With 182 horsepower, the Buick LaCrosse is not only elegant in design but powerful as well with GM’s modified Hydro-Matic 6-speed automatic transaxle.
There is also an added 115 volt, 0.5 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery integrated into the vehicle with a power inverter and a customary 12-volt battery plug available in the rear seat and the trunk. Added to this battery is regenerative braking, which delivers 15 kilowatts of electricity to recharge the battery.
Other great features of this new luxury sedan include engine shut-off when the vehicle stops and fuel cut-off during deceleration. GM also made the Buick LaCrosse MI vehicles more aerodynamic with electronically controlled shutters in the grille to help with efficiency.
