Atlantic Toyota and Huntington Toyota Customers Hear About Bigger, More Powerful Prius

Some Atlantic Toyota and Huntington Toyota shoppers have heard of the Plug-in Hybrid Prius, but they may not have learned about the newest addition that is coming: a larger and stronger Prius.

Atlantic Toyota and Huntington Toyota Customers Hear About Bigger, More Powerful Prius

Atlantic Toyota as well as Huntington Toyota customers have heard the announcement of the new, bigger Prius that is going to be added to the already efficient lineup of Toyota’s hybrid models. This new Prius model will be a step in the direction of more fuel efficient minivan-like hybrids.
In the U.S. economy, there is still a big drive for greener ways of life, especially in the automotive industry with the push to lower air pollutants. Toyota has been a part of this movement for at least 10 years as the Toyota Prius celebrated its 10th anniversary this past October. During the celebration, guests received large puzzle pieces that they arranged to reveal the new, minivan-like Prius positioned behind the current generation Prius model.
The size difference is very apparent.
Not only will Atlantic Toyota and Huntington Toyota customers enjoy the new size of the new Prius as it adds more interior space, but the engine is also more powerful with a 2.5-liter engine. This is definitely a step-up from the 1.8-liter engine.
There are other automakers making models to compete with the Prius which include the Nissan LEAF and the Chevy Volt. These models can get up to 90 mpg, but are all-electric while the Prius gets up to 50 mpg as a gas-powered vehicle without requiring any plugging in. Even though Toyota’s competitors represent another section of the hybrid industry, Toyota Corp wants to turn the Prius models into a multi-vehicle minibrand, complete with vehicles ranging from compact to full minivan.
Toyota has almost hit its goal of one million hybrids sold each year, and with this bigger Prius, they may be able to reach the goal with a wider audience being included.
If any Atlantic Toyota or Huntington Toyota customers want to see the new Prius, Toyota will be showcasing the hybrid in January at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show.
