“Our customers have a chance to shape our business in ways they probably don’t even realize, Mr. Buchbinder added.
“For example, one person suggested we offer our Honda Civics for a lower APR rate than she found at another dealership, and we gave her a 0.9 percent APR rate on her purchase, which was more than two percentage points lower than the other dealership was offering. Another customer was unhappy with a repair that our service team did correctly and promptly. Since that customer reached out to us, we were able to learn what made him so upset and change his opinion. We ended up giving him a service coupon for a free tire rotation, and now he comes to us regularly for service.
“Our goal is always to serve the customer first, and the suggestions page is one of the best ways we are able to achieve that goal.”
