Day Care CT Center The Learning Experience of Newtown Celebrates Grand Opening Honoring Men and Women in Uniform

The Learning Experience opened for business by welcoming the community and by giving parents, guardians, children and local supporters the first glimpse into the state-of-the-art facility open and ready to provide local residents with the best day care CT has to offer.
NEWTOWN, C.T. – A brand new early childhood education and daycare center called The Learning Experience of Newtown is the latest to join multitude of day care CT centers, but will stand out from the crowd on many levels.
On Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, Owner and Operator Danielle Van Riper and many guests celebrated the grand opening of The Learning Experience in Newtown, C.T. Over 150 people attended the event.
“We had a free event for the community to make our announcement that we’re officially open and to honor and support our local men and women in uniform,” Ms. Van Riper said. “The Learning Experience will provide parents, guardians, children and the local community with a state-of-the-art daycare center focused on providing a safe, educational and nurturing environment for children ages six weeks through 5 years old.”
Day care CT families who work in uniform, such as nurses, policemen and policewomen, firefighters and others, received a 10 percent discount on The Learning Experience tuition. The event was held at The Learning Experience, located at 274 South Main Street, Building A, in the Plaza South Shopping Center, in Newtown, C.T.
Many groups attended donating their time and services in order to entertain and educate the children and families. The Botsford Fire Department in Newtown brought a fire engine to the grand opening party and distributed hats and toys to the children. The Newtown Police Department supported the event by bringing a squadron car for children to explore and passed out badges. There was also a bounce house, crafts, face painting and BBQ for the attendees. The Danbury Rotary Club created personalized Amber Alert cards.
Enrollment in this day care CT childcare center was already high prior to the event, and several families signed up on the day of the celebration, so space is now limited.
Parents and guardians choose The Learning Experience because of its educational programs such as Fun with Phonics and L.E.A.P (Learning Experience Academic Program). Ms. Van Riper has an extensive background in education. She holds a master’s degree in special education from Bankstreet College in addition to both New York and Connecticut teaching certifications, and has more than a decade of training and experience as an educator.
Therefore, The Learning Experience of Newtown is much more than standard day care. Education is primary with age-appropriate learning curriculum and toys. A kindergarten class is also planned for next year.
The Learning Experience also has fun elements of play including Make Believe Boulevard, a miniature-sized Main Street, USA, including storefronts, costumes and role play areas to promote positive social interaction.
More importantly, safety and security are principal at The Learning Experience. A security monitoring system has been installed in all classrooms and the playground. A security system ensures only enrolled parents and staff are allowed into the building through an individually programmed key tag.
Children experience incredible growth and change constantly, and The Learning Experience of Newtown is committed to enhancing children’s social, emotional, intellectual and physical development on a daily basis.
