Dodge Ram MI owners learn about recall causing some vehicles to leak brake fluid.
Dodge Ram MI drivers should take it easy on the brakes until they ensure their truck is not included in Chrysler’s recall of approximately 22,000 vehicles. Dodge Ram MI drivers may be joined by certain model year 2010 left hand drive Liberty, right and left hand drive Jeep Wrangler, and Dodge Nitro vehicles.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Dodge Ram MI 1500 trucks and others included in the recall may have been built with an improperly formed master cylinder to hydraulic control unit brake tube assembly end flare.
A potential loss of brake fluid and reduced braking performance could occur which may increase the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the brake tubes at no charge and the recall is expected to begin in August. Drivers who have questions about the recall may call Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403.
Another recall was also issued for the Ford 2010 Transit Connect vehicles manufactured from Dec. 5, 2008, through May 31, 2010. The vehicles in the recall fail to meet the minimum requirements of occupant protection in interior impact set by Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 201. The recalled vehicles exceeded the head injury criteria requirements.
The risk of injury becomes increased for occupants in the event of a crash. Vehicles will be repaired at no charge. Affected owners may contact Ford Motor Company at 1-866-436-7332.
