Garden State Honda is raising money for breast cancer research during Women’s Appreciation Month going on now through the end of October. This NJ Honda dealer in partnership with the Susan G. Komen foundation is holding several events and giveaways in order to bring attention to breast cancer, raise money and help find a cure.
CLIFTON, N.J. – NJ Honda dealer Garden State Honda is actively participating in the fight to cure a disease that kills one woman every 69 seconds. As part of International Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Garden State Honda is celebrating the strength of women during its Women’s Appreciation Month.
The NJ Honda dealer has partnered with the Susan G. Komen foundation in order to raise money to find a cure, support current research, and continue to spread the message about early detection.
“These days it’s likely you already know someone who has breast cancer, or will know someone who will be diagnosed with breast cancer in your lifetime,” said Joe Coffey, General Manager at Garden State Honda. “With so many people affected, including the families of someone diagnosed with breast cancer, it’s incredibly important for us to do what we can to help find a cure.”
Garden State Honda is using several different methods to raise money for breast cancer awareness and research. The Susan G. Komen foundation will receive a monetary donation made on behalf of the customer for every car the NJ Honda dealer sells. Garden State Honda is also giving Honda buyers a limited edition Coach brand keychain on which to hang their new Honda keys; proceeds from Garden State Honda’s purchase of the Coach keychains were donated toward breast cancer research.
The keychain is a pink sparkling heart in the form of a key valet that splits into two keychains. The metal heart is inlaid with pave crystals and enamel and is joined on one of the key rings by a metal Coach tag and pink metal breast cancer awareness ribbon.
Garden State Honda is also taking its fundraising campaign to Facebook. For every person who “Becomes a Fan” of Garden State Honda's Facebook page between now and October 31st, Garden State Honda will donate $1 to the Susan G. Komen foundation up to $1,000 in addition to the money they are raising at the dealership.  “Between our Facebook campaign, keychain giveaway and monetary donation for every car sold we hope to raise more than $15,000 this month,” Joe Coffey added.
